S1 · E1 — Adam - آدم - ʾĀdam (1)
The Story of the Prophets: A captivating religious series hosted by Sheikh Nabil Al-Awadi on the "Al Watan" channel. This program delves into the inspiring stories of the prophets, highlighting their teachings, trials, and impact on Islamic history.
1. Adam - آدم - ʾĀdam (1)
Prophet Adam (AS) was the first human to be created. After Allah (SWT) had created the earth, the paradise, the sun, and the moon, He created the angels and the jinn. Finally, He created Prophet Adam (AS) and Bibi Hawwâ (AS). When Allah (SWT) informed the angels that He was going to create a new creature who would live on earth, they were surprised and said: "O Allah, why are You creating a new creature when we already worship You fully and constantly recite Your Names? These creatures will fight amongst themselves for earthly possessions and will kill each other." The angels said this because they had seen the jinn behave in this way on earth. However, some jinn were truly pious, and some, like Azâzîl (Iblis), used to worship Allah (SWT) alongside the angels.

3. Noah - نوح - Nūḥ (1)
Allah decided to send the Prophet Nūḥ to Earth because the descendants of Adam, after having worshiped Allah for a long time, began to worship idols and saints. Out of mercy for his people, Allah sent Nūḥ to remind them of the truth. He chose Nūḥ to convey His message, as only Allah knows who is worthy of carrying His message and who is truly sincere. Nūḥ was a pious and charitable man.

5. Hud - هود - Hūd
The Prophet Hud was sent by Allah to the people of 'Ad, a powerful people who lived in the Arabian region. Despite their great strength, they were filled with pride and worshiped idols. Hud brought them the message of Allah, urging them to repent and return to the path of righteousness. However, they rejected his call, persisting in their disbelief. As a result, Allah sent a violent wind to punish them, destroying their civilization. Hud is known for his patience and perseverance in spreading the divine message despite the opposition.
6. Salih - صالح - Ṣāliḥ
The story of the Prophet Salih tells how Allah sent him to guide the people of Thamud, a group who lived in rocky regions. Despite the miracles, including the birth of a divine she-camel, the people of Thamud persisted in their sin, rejecting Salih's message. The Prophet warned them of their disbelief and arrogance, but they refused to repent. Their end was tragic when the earth swallowed them, a divine punishment for their rejection of the truth.
7. Abraham - إبراهيم - ʾIbrāhīm (1)
The Prophet Ibrahim is a model of faith and total submission to Allah. Born into an idol-worshiping family, he rejected the worship of idols and turned to Allah alone, preaching the oneness of God. Ibrahim was tested many times, notably by Allah's command to sacrifice his son Isma'il, an act he accepted with absolute faith. Allah, in His mercy, replaced Isma'il with a ram, thus rewarding Ibrahim's total submission to His will. Ibrahim is also the father of two great religious figures, Isma'il and Isaac, and an important ancestor for the three major monotheistic religions: Islam, Christianity, and Judaism.

10. Lot - لوط - Lūṭ
The Prophet Lot (Lut) was sent by Allah to warn the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, who engaged in immoral acts and deviant behaviors. They ignored Lot's warnings and persisted in their sins, including homosexuality, corruption, and violence. Despite all his efforts to guide them to righteousness, the people refused to repent. As a result, Allah destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, sparing only Lot and his family, except for his wife, who turned her back on the truth and was transformed into a pillar of salt.
11. Shu'ayb - شعيب - Chouayb
The Prophet Shu'ayb is a man of wisdom and justice sent by Allah to guide the people of Madyan, who were involved in unjust practices such as cheating in trade and exploiting the weak. He preached to them the worship of Allah and integrity in business, calling for fairness, honesty, and piety. Despite his efforts, the majority of his people rejected his message, and Allah punished those who persisted in their disbelief and injustice.
12. Joseph - يوسف - Yūsuf (1)
The story of Prophet Joseph is one of the most touching and inspiring. He was the son of Prophet Jacob (Ya'qub) and one of the twelve sons. Joseph, known for his beauty and wisdom, was betrayed by his jealous brothers who sold him as a slave in Egypt. After many trials and injustices, Joseph became a man of great influence and power in Egypt. He forgave his brothers and helped them during a time of famine, thus demonstrating exceptional qualities of patience, faith, and forgiveness. His story is a model of resilience and trust in Allah.

15. Job - أيوب - Ayyūb
The Prophet Ayyūb (Job) is an example of patience and perseverance in the face of adversity. Allah blessed him with great wealth and a large family, but he was tested with severe trials, losing his health, wealth, and loved ones. Despite his suffering, Ayyūb never lost his faith in Allah and continued to pray and seek His mercy. Allah, seeing his patience and sincerity, healed him and restored what he had lost, rewarding his unwavering faith.
16. Jonah - يونس - Yūnus
The story of the Prophet Jonah (Yūnus) is that of a man chosen by Allah to warn his people about their bad behavior and idol worship. The people of Jonah refused to listen to his call, and in his frustration, Jonah left their city without divine permission. However, Allah, in His wisdom and mercy, sent a great storm, and Jonah was swallowed by a large fish. In the depths of darkness and despair, Jonah sincerely repented, and Allah, seeing his repentance, saved him. The story of Jonah teaches the importance of sincere repentance and submission to the will of Allah.
17. Moses - موسى - Mūsā (1)
The story of Prophet Moses is one of the most remarkable in the narratives of the prophets. Allah chose Moses to free the Children of Israel from the oppression of Pharaoh in Egypt. After being saved from the waters at his birth, Moses grew up in Pharaoh's court before fleeing after killing an Egyptian. Allah spoke to him directly on Mount Sinai, commanding him to return and guide his people to freedom and divine laws. Moses confronted Pharaoh with many miracles, and through the power of Allah, he succeeded in leading his people to freedom, crossing the Red Sea. His story is one of faith, courage, and obedience to Allah.

21. The Verdant One - الخضر - Al-Khiḍr
The story of Prophet Al-Khiḍr, known as "The Verdant One," is a profound spiritual teaching in Islam. Al-Khiḍr is often described as a wise and mysterious being, endowed with divine knowledge and particular wisdom, which Allah granted him to guide those in search of truth. Although he is not always recognized as a prophet in the traditional sense, he is respected for his guidance and his important role in the Qur'anic narratives. His story symbolizes the hidden wisdom behind certain events, which humans may struggle to understand, but which are part of the divine plan.
22. Joshua - يوشع بن نون - Yūshaʿ
The Story of Prophet Joshua (Yūshaʿ): Joshua, also known as Yūshaʿ, succeeded Prophet Moses. He led the people of Israel through the desert and was chosen by Allah to conquer the Promised Land. Through his faith and devotion, Joshua led with wisdom and courage, embodying the spirit of justice and piety in his people. He is revered for his role in establishing the people of Israel in the Holy Land.
23. David - داود - Dāwud
Prophet David, known as Dāwud in Arabic, is an important figure in Islamic, Jewish, and Christian traditions. He was chosen by Allah to be king and prophet after a great challenge, where he defeated the giant Goliath, an act of faith and courage. Dāwud was a man of justice and wisdom, and he led his people with fairness. Allah gave him revelations, including the Zabūr (Psalms), and he was an example of piety and gratitude toward Allah, using his voice to sing praises to God.
24. Solomon - سليمان - Sulaymān
Prophet Solomon (Suleiman) was a king and a prophet of Allah, known for his wisdom, justice, and miracles. He inherited from his father, Prophet David (Dāwūd), and Allah granted him a vast and powerful kingdom. Solomon had control over the jinn, birds, and animals, which symbolized his divine power. His wisdom was such that he made fair judgments, inspiring peace and prosperity. He also preached the oneness of Allah and guided his people toward faith. His story teaches the importance of wisdom, gratitude, and obedience to Allah.
25. Solomon, Ezra - سليمان, عزير - ‘Uzayr, Sulaymān
Prophet Solomon (Suleiman) was a king and a prophet of Allah, known for his wisdom, justice, and miracles. He inherited the kingdom from his father, Prophet David (Dāwūd), and had control over the jinn, birds, and animals, symbolizing his divine power. He made fair judgments, preached the oneness of Allah, and guided his people towards faith. His story teaches the importance of wisdom and obedience to Allah. Prophet Ezra (‘Uzayr) was a spiritual guide for the children of Israel. After the exile of his people, he played a key role in restoring the faith. According to the Qur'an, Allah performed a miracle by resurrecting ‘Uzayr after many years of death, thereby strengthening the faith of his people. He is also recognized for preserving and rewriting the divine teachings. His story illustrates the power of faith and the importance of prophets in spiritual guidance.
26. Zachariah - زكريا - Zakariyyā
The Prophet Zachariah, a righteous and devoted man, is mentioned in the Qur'an as a model of patience and faith. He dedicated his life to the service of God, praying humbly and imploring His mercy. Zachariah was a prophet who took care of the mother of Mary, and he was the one who witnessed the miracle of the birth of her son, Yahya (John the Baptist), even though he and his wife were elderly. His unwavering faith in Allah and his sincere prayers led to this miracle. His story is an example of devotion, perseverance, and absolute trust in the will of Allah.
27. Mary - مريم - Mariam
The story of Mary, mother of the Prophet Isa (Jesus), is a poignant tale of faith, purity, and devotion. Mary, a virtuous woman chosen by Allah, was selected to be the mother of Isa, a prophet of great importance in Islam. She was miraculously conceived without sin, and her devotion to Allah was unparalleled. Her patience and trust in Allah during the trials she endured, particularly the miraculous birth of her son, make her a model of faith and perseverance for the believers.
28. Jesus - عيسى - ʿĪsā
The Prophet Jesus, known as ʿĪsā in Arabic, is one of the greatest prophets in Islam. Born miraculously to the Virgin Mary (Maryam), he preached the oneness of God, love, and peace. Jesus performed many miracles by the will of Allah, healing the sick and raising the dead. He delivered a message of mercy and guidance to the children of Israel, calling for submission to Allah. Jesus was not crucified according to Islamic belief, but Allah raised him up to Himself. He will return at the end of times to defeat the Antichrist (Dajjal) and restore justice.
29. Mohamed - محمد - Muḥammad
The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the last messenger of Allah, sent to guide humanity to the straight path. Born in Mecca in 570, he grew up in a society marked by polytheism and injustice. At the age of 40, he received the first revelation from the angel Jibril (Gabriel), marking the beginning of his prophetic mission. His message, the oneness of Allah and submission to His will, was conveyed through the Qur'an, the last sacred book. Prophet Muhammad embodied the qualities of wisdom, patience, and mercy. He is a role model for Muslims in their faith, conduct, and actions.
